WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant who can bring strong analytical, organizational & problem-solving skills to the BaubleBar team. Reporting directly to the Senior Controller, this person will own several monthly accounting functions as well as help define processes as we continue to build & scale the business. You will have the unique opportunity to work closely with the Co-Founders & other internal stakeholders to ensure the accuracy & reliability of the Companys financial information. This will be a hands-on role with an opportunity to make a significant impact on a rapidly growing company. Being a self-starter who enjoys working in a challenging & fast-paced environment will allow you to thrive in this role.   

WHAT WE WANT YOU TO DO:

• Assist with the month-end close process to ensure the timely & accurate posting, balancing, & reconciliation of the general ledger
• Prepare work papers, financial statements, & various reports for internal accounting & auditing
• Research & analyze fluctuations between current financial results compared to prior year, prior month, & budgeted amounts
• Support daily financial operations including A/R, A/P, & other general accounting-related functions
• In collaboration with other departments assist with budget activity, proper expenditure coding, document preparation, & other accounting-related activities
• Work with independent auditors to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements
• Recommend changes in accounting systems & procedures
• Produce ad hoc reporting & analysis as required
• Position will be remote (residing anywhere in the United States & authorized to work in the U.S.) Standard working hours to coincide with 9:00 am- 6:00 pm EST

WHAT WE WANT TO SEE:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field of study
• Five years of using accounting & auditing principles & practices in accordance with GAAP
• CPA or CPA candidate is preferred
• Experience in the Retail industry is preferred
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Regularly exercises discretion & independent judgement in the performance of his/her job duties
• Proficient in spreadsheet applications
