Director, Talent Acquisition

Director, Talent Acquisition develops & delivers long & short-term talent acquisition strategies across Appian. They are the primary day-to-day leader of the Talent Acquisition team of approximately 20+ members & managers. They design & deliver innovative end-to-end recruiting services including proactive sourcing, diversity, & executive recruiting. They effectively leverage internal & external resources to ensure they are properly allocated to support each critical business needs including working with the senior executive team to improve acquisition of talent in their teams. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Human Resources & works across a cross functional People Team to effectively achieve goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop & execute talent acquisition strategies in partnership with Employment Branding that enhance the organization's visibility & reputation in key recruiting markets
  • Help talent acquisition position Appian as an employer of choice among target candidates
  • Lead & manage the talent acquisition strategy & activities
  • Leverage social networking & other innovative recruiting technologies & tools to connect with a broad & diverse talent network
  • Work with the business & Human Resource Business Partners to assess future skill requirements & develop appropriate talent recruiting strategies to aid the business in acquiring the requisite skills & capabilities
  • Refine & evolve our talent acquisition metrics with the Program & Operations function as it relates to cost per hire, applicant flow, hiring manager, & new employee satisfaction, diversity candidate slate & diversity hiring
  • Ongoing evaluation of existing hiring systems & processes to be assessed & adjusted to allow for support of our agile work environment & locations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 10 + years in a talent acquisition position
  • 5+ years of leadership/management experience managing a global, high-volume & high performing team of at least 15+ recruiters
  • Ability to attract, develop & retain a competent & committed team
  • Strong analytical skills including creating recruiting scorecards & analyzing data to understand metrics & create solutions for continuous improvement
  • Ability to work with senior management & influence decision making
  • Demonstrated track record of success creating strategic talent programs that support aggressive business growth in a highly specialized & competitive market
  • Expertise in effectively managing full life cycle recruitment, including thorough pre-qualification screening, creative sourcing strategies, interviewing, negotiating & closing candidates across multiple levels & disciplines
  • Experience developing & managing an annual recruiting budget, metrics, & performance goals
  • Solid foundation in TA technology implementation & functionality of technical solutions to help TA such as ATS, CRM, AI, & LinkedIn Recruiter
