If you consider yourself an expert on the life sciences industry & in Data Science & are excited about the potential of automated machine learning to drive significant improvements in outcomes, cost savings, & bottom-line impact, then you may be the ideal Data Science SME-life sciences Lead to join our rapidly growing DataRobot team.

Were looking for a self-motivated Data Science SME-life sciences candidate who has strong fundamentals of applied data science in the life sciences setting, & enjoys communicating & evangelizing life sciences data science solutions to internal & external business stakeholders. Location can be D.C., Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey or remote (US).

Roles & responsibilities :

  • Create assets (demo datasets, demo scripts, slides, blog posts, whitepapers, etc.) demonstrating the value of DataRobot platform for specific use cases in life sciences

    • Leverage industry data, partner data, & developing new datasets with partners or customers

    • Create technical content to enable customer facing data scientists to better support our life sciences customers

    • and assist the GM of life sciences with other content pieces as needed (webinars, ebook, case studies).

    • Help prepare CFDSs & AEs to do effective presentation to life sciences prospects

    • Assist CFDSs in effective demo's for life sciences prospects including data, scripts, value props.

  • Help win accounts in the life sciences industry (Pharma).

    • Assist where needed in initial POC Engagements (life sciences companies) & customer projects

    • Be able to educate executives on the strategic value propositions of DataRobot in the life sciences Industry

  • Product Development

    • Participate in Product Development/Solutions Development Discussions when needed

    • Track DataRobot product adoption & usage by life sciences customers in conjunction with life sciences Industry GM; identify issues that may be impeding adoption & escalate internally to the appropriate organization for follow-up/action.

    • Providing the customers point of view to DataRobots Product team, informing the direction of future product feature development

  • Events participation in the area of life sciences

    • Participate in conferences & marketing events in the area of life sciences as needed.

    • Assisting the GM of life sciences & the marketing department in events selection & planning for the year

  • Leadership

    • Understanding & empathizing with customers pain points of building AI solutions

    • Collaborating with Sales, Customer facing data scientists, Field Engineers, & the rest of the DataRobot team to ensure that our life sciences DataRobot users needs are being met.

Main Requirements:

  • 1-2+ years of real-world experience in a data science role

  • 2-4+ years of analytics experience in the life sciences industry (pharma or biotech).

  • Hands-on experience building & implementing predictive models using machine learning algorithms

  • Deep experience in life sciences

  • Strong customer interaction experience

  • Excellent organizational, communication, writing & interpersonal skills

  • Familiarity with a variety of technical tools for the manipulation of datasets

  • Fluency with scripting (Python / R)

  • Understanding of the data types & software systems in life sciences (ie. real world data)

  • Up to 20% travel

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with an enterprise customer base & salesforce

  • Great people networking skills you built a trusted network at your current/previous company to help get stuff done quickly

  • Familiarity with Spark or Hadoop or AWS & related Big Data technologies
