For the COVID-19 public health crisis, Helix has built one of the nations largest COVID diagnostic labs & has been on the leading edge of national viral surveillance efforts tracking B.1.1.7 & other viral strains.

What Youll Do:

  • Be a strong proponent of agile quality practices, automation, & a continuous integration methodology.
  • Work alongside software engineers in an agile environment.
  • Participate in requirements & design review meetings to create comprehensive test strategies/plans.
  • Work with the team developers to develop, document, & execute test cases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely & robust execution of testing as part of a regular release schedule.
  • Be a trusted partner to the Regulatory team by collaborating with Regulatory Quality, Laboratory, & cross-functional departments to gather & implement regulatory & operational requirements for automation frameworks.
  • Participate in requirements & design review meetings to create comprehensive test strategies/plans.
  • Design, create, enhance, & maintain detailed test cases & conduct testing.
  • Provide accurate planning, clear strategies, & milestones for testing, leading to successful implementation & timely project completion.
  • Report, track & escalate anomalies discovered during testing & ensure closure on issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely & robust execution of testing as part of a regular release schedule.
  • Assist in creating, maintaining, & running quality improvement initiatives & automated testing frameworks.

About you:

  • 5+ years' experience with quality assurance with a focus on software testing, design control of software development, software verification & validation.
  • Ability to complete detailed documentation efficiently & accurately.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills; ability to present issues, plans & objectives.
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, & analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Golang, Typescript).
  • Experience with continuous integration platforms (e.g., CodePipeline, CircleCI, Jenkins, GoCD).
  • Experience with agile methodologies & automation-first engineering practices.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., xUnit, Cucumber, Gingko, Selenium, JMeter, k6, Locust).
  • Experience testing cloud-native, microservice-based, software architectures.
  • Experience testing serverless (e.g., AWS Lambda) & asynchronous (e.g., SQS) software architectures.
  • A passion for improving peoples lives through access to better information about their DNA.
  • A passion for helping build testing capacity for COVID-19.


  • Experience in medical, biopharmaceutical or device industries.
  • Familiarity with regulatory & compliance frameworks including 21 CFR Part 11, 21 CFR 820, Medical Device Data Software (MDDS), GAMP 5, & HIPAA.
