Netflix announced the creation of the first global Internet TV network three years ago & now operates in 190 countries. But our journey has just begun. Our marketing team is tasked with making people so passionate about our content that they signup & watch. As a part of this mission, we strive to engage with people all over the world through earned, owned, & paid media.
Earned media - creating organic news cycles through publicity events, awards for our titles, & creative talent engagement.
Owned media - publishing content through social media channels for fans
Paid media - advertising through online (FB, YT), & offline channels (TV, OOH)
We are forming a new team to specifically help our Publicity team with their technology & scaling needs - media outreach, event planning (premieres, screening events, press junkets), awards/nominations management, title launch calendaring, etc.
As the publicity & marketing teams in Los Angeles continue to grow, we are starting to build out engineering teams to help them leverage technology to plan & manage publicity campaigns for lots of titles & the Netflix brand at large. You'll be one of the founding engineers on this distributed team (Los Angeles, Los Gatos), so you will need a wide range of experience & the ability to operate autonomously & directly with partners. This position will require occasional travel between Los Gatos & Los Angeles.
