Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Regulatory Associate, Legal to join our Regulatory Operations team.

About the role

As an Associate within our Regulatory Operations team, you will help develop & format our core insurance policy documents, the Certificates of Coverage & Evidences of Coverage. You will maintain ownership of workflows, tools & requirements to ensure operational success. You will guide the development of process improvements & encourage support where needed. You will work with different internal Oscar teams, & our external regulators.

You will report to the Senior Manager of Regulatory Operations. This is a hybrid role, & you will work part of the time in the New York City office & part of the time working remotely.

Responsibilities

During your first six weeks: You will:

  • Develop a baseline understanding of the regulatory operations ecosystem & current strengths, weaknesses, & gaps.
  • Engage with the current members of the team
  • Initiate connections across the company, including leadership & external partners.

During your first six months: You will:

  • Implement 2-3 programs to improve our business & member facing outputs, while protecting & improving the integrity of the Legal team deliverables
  • Contribute to the development of annual filing communication functions & regulator input, while providing crisp, next steps for all partners.
  • Introduce tools & systems to support more efficient management
  • Have a distinct handle on the structure of the team both operationally & culturally.
  • Project manage the internal tracking & monitoring of Regulatory Operations team deliverables.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 4 years commensurate experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in business operations, consulting, legal writing, project management or healthcare.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel & Google Sheets.
  • Proficiency in designing & improving workflows.

Bonus points

  • You have an interest in healthcare & health care regulation / policy.
  • You value making processes, documents, & resources more streamlined, efficient, & systematic, by implementing updates & improvements to Regulatory Operations workflows.
