About the team:
The Procurement team has identified a need to onboard Wealthsimple's first Vendor Manager SME to help build & support vendor management at Wealthsimple. This individual will have responsibility for building & evolving Wealthsimple's vendor management process, navigating vendor relationships, working with & helping to develop Third Party Risk Management, coaching business teams on best practices & identifying & implementing structure & organization across Wealthsimple's existing vendor pool.
The successful candidate will be a Manager, & is expected to build a vendor management process, combining some leadership abilities with a strong analytical skillset & the ability to roll up their sleeves to execute analysis & support a wide variety of stake-holders across the organization. This Manager role will reside within the Procurement function, & report into the Procurement Lead.
The Vendor Manager will be empowered to build, support & help improve Wealthsimple's vendor management process as part of Wealthsimple's Regulatory Ops Team. This work takes many forms, but includes supporting our teams in the evaluation & selection of new vendors, helping define business needs & requirements, evaluating SLA's & vendor risks, & evolving Wealthsimple's vendor management process. Importantly, we expect to realize significant benefits through this position by way of improved SLA's, limiting overruns & unnecessary renewals, & the identification & implementation of cost saving initiatives. Your job will be to help Wealthsimple make smarter decisions & evolve the vendor management process to ensure it's meeting the needs of the business as we continue to grow.
