SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.


SpaceX is building a worldwide fleet of gateway stations to support the Starlink network. These gateway stations make up the internet interfacing backbone of the network. Our site build team is responsible for working with external network providers to communicate technical requirements, design site layouts in direct coordination with these vendors, & arrange external contractors to build these sites. The build team is also responsible for coordinating deployment of SpaceX hardware & technicians to these sites when they are complete. Our team works with vendors & contractors around the world to provide this critical infrastructure to make Starlink a reality.


  • Work with SpaceX acquisition team & external vendors to communicate technical requirements
  • Design gateway site layouts that are logical, easy to build, & quickly deployable
  • Coordinate with host vendor & third party contractors to plan construction of gateway sites
  • Generate site drawings for civil & electrical systems using 2D or 3D CAD software
  • Arrange third party contractors to build & deploy gateway sites
  • Ensure suppliers meet all measures of performance consistently by executing operating plans with clear deliverables & timelines
  • Interface with & drive improvement of gateway build processes, cross team interactions, & system level designs
  • Supervise system level builds by working with contractors, external vendors, & technicians
  • Develop & maintain vendor relationships that support continuous improvements in supplier quality, cost effectiveness, coordination, delivery, lead-times, & other areas as identified
  • Work with internal contracting, purchasing, legal, & regulatory teams to align site design with local codes of construction & compliance
  • Drive projects to improve network reliability by revising physical topology


  • Bachelors degree in engineering, supply chain, construction management or other technical discipline
  • 4+ years of project management or vendor management experience


  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, industrial, manufacturing engineering, or construction management
  • Experience with remotely coordinating multiple third party contractors
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple parallel projects, vendors, & deliver on time results
  • Working understanding of civil construction, residential & commercial electrical systems, & fiber optic networking
  • Established pattern of improving supplier quality
  • Experience with design & build of civil infrastructure relating to ground works & roof top systems
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated & able to respond quickly to a fast-moving & ever-changing environment
  • Exceptional written, verbal & presentation communication skills
  • Proficiency with Siemens NX, or equivalent 3D modeling software
  • Proficiency coding in SQL, MatLab, Python, C++, or similar


  • Willing to travel 15% of the time, up to one week at a time
  • Schedule flexibility to work with vendors in any time zone
