About the Role

This role will be primarily focused on developing & executing early-adopter customer capture plans informed by market opportunities & Planets go to market plan for Planets Hyperspectral program in line with the Carbon Mapper Mission. 

The Impact You Own:

• Shape & participate in the Early Access Program for Hyperspectral missions; 
• Developing a capture plan to enroll early adopter customers into early stages of the Planets Hyperspectral program in target markets such as defense, energy, agriculture, government, & forestry;
• Nurture & develop relationships with partners in the government, scientific & philanthropic communities;
• Gather customer feedback to inform product development, market assessments & sales enablement activities 
• Leverage customer insights & other market research to develop recommendations on go to market strategy
• Design the foundational business models to tie users, use cases & technology together across the missions development timeline; 

Must Haves:

• Relevant business development experience supporting new product & market development
• Ability to manage & lead multiple diverse capture plans & facilitate complex business discussions
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, & creative thinking skills
• Excellent project, time, & budget management skills, & being able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without sacrificing attention to detail
• A mixture of high energy, flexibility & team orientation with a direct, honest, & respectful approach to problem-solving, & an ability to work both collaboratively & independently in a high-growth, start-up culture
• Strong executive communication (speaking & writing), interpersonal, & organizational skills
• Experience in an industry where imaging spectroscopy sensing could be applied. Experience in the energy industry is preferred, but experience other industries such as defense, atmospheric sciences, agriculture, environmental conservation or geology invited to apply
• A passion for scientific progress, & boundless desire to address climate change

Compensation (only applicable for Colorado applicants):

The base pay range targeted for this position in Colorado is: $106,200 - $192,000. This role is eligible for bonus, commission & equity.

The actual offer, including the compensation package, is determined based on multiple factors, including experience, location, & other business considerations.

Planet is registered as an employer in many, but not all, states. If you are not able to work from a state where Planet is registered, you will not be eligible for employment.
