Job Description:

HelloFresh is in search of an Associate Director, Studio Operations to join our Brand team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about end-to-end photography & video production, executing projects & programs to schedule, scope, budget, & specification.

The AD, Studio Operations, reporting to the Director of Brand Operations, will oversee a team of 15, plus a host of freelance talent. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the studios in NYC & Boulder, as well as project budgeting & financial reporting. In addition, you will lead & prioritize multiple, simultaneous projectsmany of which can be complex in natureensuring the studio goals are aligned with the broader business objectives. 

You will ...

  • Ambassador for the studios, creating meaningful relationships with key stakeholders
  • Line management of photographer (1), food stylists (2), kitchen manager (1), studio operations manager (1)
  • Manage the day-to-day business operations of the NYC Photo Studio, including facilities management & the overall budget management of the photo & styling teams as they pertain to the NYC Studio
  • Oversee studio operations manager responsible for the day-to-day business operations of the Boulder studio
  • Manage capital projects within the studio, including the space & building management
  • Implement proven & innovative team leadership solutions to complete projects
  • Maintain the studio production calendar
  • Continually prioritize project portfolio, creatively problem-solving clashes
  • Forecasting weekly, monthly & quarterly project costs
  • Oversee the scoping of projects, allocating budget prudently, where most appropriate
  • Lead weekly studio meeting, outlining priorities, capturing & resolving issues
  • Rigorous financial reporting, regularly re-forecasting throughout the quarter
  • Maintain & manage a stable of production vendors & freelance resources
  • Lead communication of & defend critical portfolio decisions
  • Mitigate potential risks to critical project work
  • Ability to assess, resource & budget projects following a creative briefing
  • Communicate expectations internally regarding schedules, resourcing, & budgets
  • Exercise critical thinking in navigating competing business interests
  • Initiate & drive post-shoot assessments (post-mortems)

At a minimum, you have...

  • Bachelors degree plus 10 years of photography & production environment management 
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management
  • Demonstrated experience managing a cross-functional, multi-location team
  • Deep experience in the creation of production workflows & working with creative teams
  • Tenacity in follow-through, owning & guiding projects from infancy to execution
  • Impeccably organized with careful attention to detail
  • Problem solver, always ready & able to present options in all instances
  • Ability & willingness to always be the calmest person in the room
  • Empowered self-starter, with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to present & defend plans & priorities to project teams & business owners
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability & desire to effectively drive change through empathy & persistence
