Principal Solutions Engineer - Zoom Video Communications

The Principal Solution Engineer role at Zoom is an exciting & rewarding position. We are looking for a technical sales professional with knowledge of enterprise customer business drivers to adopt the Zoom Communication platform. The Principal Solution Engineer acts as a trusted advisor within & outside Zoom & plays an integral part in delivering Happiness to our customers.
This individual serves as the lead advocate for customers; translating technical needs into product development recommendations, testing of customer environments & driving customer demand/features internally within Zoom. Must be able to understand & articulate Zoom's architectural advantages to our largest customers & support the Account Executive when it comes to proposing & designing solutions to our customers biggest collaboration challenges.
The ideal candidate will be self-driven & have a background in telephony, video & applications sales, knowledge of Zoom communication platform (Chat, Meetings, Video, Phone, Marketplace/API) and/or competitive equivalent. In depth knowledge of Microsoft & application based competition is preferred. (Microsoft, Amazon, RingCentral, 8x8, Cisco, etc)
As a Solution Engineer you will be:
Designing next generation communication solutions for Zoom customers
Conducting demo & proof of concepts for prospective Zoom customers
Solution & architectural conceptualization, design & selling
Building & articulating internally/externally competitive intelligence
Working across multiple internal organizations to help conceive & drive solutions development.
Driving the Zoom Vision within our most strategic customer segments
Here are the specifics of the ideal candidate we are seeking for this highly visible role:
Strong business acumen & executive presence
SaaS Collaboration pre-sales experience i.e. web conferencing, cloud voice, UCaaS
In-depth knowledge of "traditional" voice communications systems & applications
Excellent communication skills
Definition, creation, & presentation of technical solutions to Enterprise-level customers
Ability to present topics in a clear & concise manner to many levels of technical skill sets & including the C-Suite
Demonstratable expert level solution sales capabilities
End-to-end complex IT systems knowledge & working experience
Ability to apply IT Systems knowledge to customer solution design in complex, multi-thousand user environments across multiple business functions
Determine best method to formulate & communicate a complex technical solution based on customer-specific needs
Understand Zoom partner & ecosystem partners, products & applications
Mentor developing team members & have influence within Zoom at all levels of the organization
Be seen as a leader within the organization & externally to help influence & drive sales via social media influence & other written/presentation audiences.
15+ years of technical experience with a mix of sales/technical for complex video/audio & software technologies
10+ years in a customer facing sales or technical role required
Thorough competitive knowledge including solution, technology & product offerings across a broad spectrum of collaboration, software & voice technologies - you are the expert people go to for industry expertise
Demonstrated credible advocate & influencing ability at C-suite levels
Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent.
