As an Algorithms Researcher at Via, you'll join a team that explores the vast collection of relevant data & creates the optimization algorithms that drive Via's mass scale, complex, multi-dimensional automated dispatch.

What You'll Do:

• Mathematically model the competing demands on Via's system.
• Develop online decision-making systems that optimize system utilization while maintaining quality of service for riders.
• Develop algorithms that implement decision-making systems in an efficient & scalable way.
• Use sophisticated statistical methods to analyze demand, traffic & fleet performance, & generate insights that inform algorithm development.

Who You Are:

• M.Sc./PhD Computer Science / Mathematics / Physics or similar
• Significant academic research experience in relevant fields.
• Extensive knowledge of algorithms, with a focus on graph theory & combinatorial optimization.
• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in hands-on algorithms development.
• Analytical: you can extract the essential features of a complex real-life problem to arrive at a simple & relevant mathematical model.
• Experience in Python programming - Advantage.
• Fast learner: you can quickly master concepts, disciplines & methods.
• Strong interpersonal & communications skills.
• Hands-on: you are able to realize your ideas in code.
