Oar's mission is to make highly effective addiction medicine highly approachable.

We're off to a great start, using telemedicine to help thousands of people get access to safe, effective medication-assisted treatment for Alcohol Use Disorder. We help our customers understand their options, connect them with licensed medical providers who write prescriptions when medically appropriate, ship FDA-approved medication to our customers' doors, & provide ongoing support. Unlike many traditional treatment options, Oar is convenient, physician-guided, medication-forward, judgement-free, & affordable.

And we're just getting started. In the next phase of our growth, we'll engineer new products & features to support our customers as they navigate the journey of changing their relationship with alcohol. And we'll expand our direct-to-consumer telemedicine platform to help more of the millions of people who struggle with addiction & compulsion.

We are searching for a diligent, hungry-to-build software developer to join Oar as a Software Engineer. As a member of our engineering team, you will collaborate with our product & design teams to bring new features to life, building beautiful & interactive experiences that help Oar's consumers confront addiction & compulsion. Plus, you will work with a talented, diverse team united by its common values: empathy, acceptance, expertise, innovation, integrity, & high performance.

• You are mission-driven, bringing a passion for helping the millions of people who struggle with addiction & compulsion

• You have 3+ years of experience as a software developer

• You have familiarity with a smorgasbord of tools. Our favorites include Ruby, Ruby on Rails, SQL, React, TypeScript, & JavaScript

• You have an entrepreneurial spirit & think proactively about broader business & customer goals

• You like to rely on your keen problem-solving abilities to creatively & efficiently extinguish unexpected challenges

• You are able to build quickly but also have a sense of architecture that can scale well beyond small beta launches

• You enjoy working collaboratively, within a common framework, to build intuitive solutions to complex problems

• You're intellectually curious, willing to jump into existing projects & learn on the fly

• You bring high conscientiousness, attention to detail, & strong organizational skills
