We're looking for someone to join as our HR Chief of Staff, overseeing & managing the office of the CHRO. This role reports to our Chief HR Officer & will serve as a thought partner & trusted advisor to the CHRO to lead the development, communication, & execution of a cohesive HR strategic plan in alignment with GitHubs mission, vision, & priorities. The successful candidate will work with HR & Company leadership on business & organizational issues, & can impact, influence, & execute in a fast-paced & dynamic environment. Strong written & verbal communication skills are a must, as is a commitment to our core values of inclusion, collaboration, transparency, quality, positive impact, & getting things done.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning & activation of GitHub people priorities; building scalable processes & rhythm enabling business impact.
  • Monitor progress & champion prioritization & data driven results.
  • HR team effectiveness & engagement; empower & connect the GitHub HR community in the most optimal way. Enable a culture of community, learning & execution excellence.
  • Maximize partnerships with key stakeholders & partners; have an owner mindset across HR & the G&A LT on all topics for increased business & HR impact.
  • HR workforce & financial management; manage annual planning including monitoring budget & HC management.
  • Close cross-departmental engagement with HR, Finance, Internal Communications, Business Systems, IT teams & Company Leadership.
  • Lead and/or contribute to special projects & assignments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in Human Resources, Change Management, Business Transformation, Finance, Planning, & Operations.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly matrixed, cross-functional, & collaborative environment while effectively managing a variety of internal stakeholders across a diversity of disciplines. 
  • Proven track record of navigating through ambiguity, & a demonstrated ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances & demands.
  • A strong problem-solving track record youre able to think critically through unique problems with no set playbook & quickly implement a path to a solution, & you can toggle effortlessly between big picture strategy & in-the-weeds tactical problem-solving
  • Experienced in strategic planning, execution, building relationships & working with executives. 
  • Manages confidentiality without exception; demonstrates outstanding judgment. 
  • Excellent written & verbal interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, & inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in human resources, business, organization development, psychology or related field
  • Ability to proactively identify gaps in the business, & propose/drive thoughtful & inclusive solutions
  • Strong collaboration experience & ability to find win/win solutions 
  • Ability to maintain good judgement in fast-paced, high-stress environments 
  • Experience scaling programs & processes to at a startup
  • Familiarity with GitHub
