Lyft is looking for an experienced & values driven professional to join our People Business Partner (HRBP) team with a focus on Employee Relations to serve our Operations team. As an Associate People Business Partner with a primary focus on Employee Relations, you will guide Lyfts success by bringing your knowledge & expertise to Lyfts People team & help us maintain our culture as we grow. Reporting to the People Business Partner - Operations for the West Region (based in San Francisco), you will tackle field-based investigations & provide thoughtful partnership to the centralized Employee Relations team. You will have the ability to make sound judgment calls & contribute to maintaining a culture of high integrity. The ideal candidate has experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments & can help scale/manage our rapid growth. We are seeking someone who can thrive in ambiguous situations.   • Conduct & lead a wide range of workplace investigations within the Operations function related to employee claims & advise leaders & HR Business Partners
  • Provide counsel & coaching to managers & team members at an individual level, & by developing training offerings that can scale
  • Be a true expert by understanding essential trends in employee relations & improving across the line of business
  • Interpret policies, incorporating knowledge of state & federal employment laws. (i.e. ADA, FMLA, EEO) & practice & provide recommendations to resolve complex employee relations issues
  • Partner with team members & managers to maintain a positive work environment, which encourages the full use of diverse talents & abilities; act as an employee advocate; help guide division projects
  • Partner with centralized Employee Relations function & act as a bridge with the HR Business Partner team
  • Assure the integrity of corrective action/investigation records & files
  • Some travel required


  • 4+ years of applicable experience; experience in HR or HR-related working experience; with demonstrated experience in employee relations and/or performance management
  • Bachelors degree or similar experience required
  • Working knowledge of state & federal employment laws including: FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRB, Title VII
  • Experience tracking, prioritizing, & driving multiple concurrent projects
  • Highest level of integrity & management of confidential information
  • Independent, organized, & passionate about detail
  • A team player. Excellent at building relationships within your team & across teams
  • A motivated & active learner. If you dont understand something, you figure out a way to learn about it, & you arent afraid to ask when you need help
  • Superb written & verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to think critically & anticipate issues before they arise, & proactively suggest big-picture solutions
