About the team

Harry's is a next-generation consumer packaged goods company focused on expanding & strengthening our DTC (Direct To Consumer) brands. The engineering team launches & maintains the software that supports these brands. We value continuous improvement & learning, teamwork & collaboration, creative problem solving, & open & direct dialogue & feedback.

The Engineering team at Harry's is responsible for building full-stack services to support all e-commerce activities. These systems range from order & fulfillment systems to customer facing websites.

About the role

Youll be joining Harrys North America DTC Software Engineering Team, which powers harrys.com & our internal tools. Youll explore both the frontend & backend of our application. Youll work alongside & learn from engineers on a team working closely with product management & design teams to achieve business goals, while getting a first hand view into how we prioritize engineering excellence & best practices in our engineering organization. The systems & software you work on will help us serve thoughtful & delightful customer experiences in a way our retail competitors cannot.

What you can expect from our summer internship program

  • Learn about Harrys history & culture through our Summer Intern onboarding experience.
  • Socialize & build your network through regular check-ins, lunches & events with fellow interns.
  • Develop relationships with & secure guidance from mentors from your immediate team & from one of our seven Employee Resource Groups.
  • Participate in regular Q&As with Harrys leadership.
  • Highlight projects you observed & contributed to in an End of Summer Wrap-Up with your fellow interns, in a fun & engaging forum.

What you will observe, learn about & accomplish

  • Pair closely with teammates & mentors to learn & contribute to team wide projects & initiatives.
  • Participate in meetings with our team, & cross functional partners.
  • Get experience with Git, task management, code review, & working with Product & Design teams.
  • Learn tools, techniques, & best practices around quality assurance & operational excellence in use by the team.
  • Discover many of the different paths a developer can take within engineering, & see projects built by different kinds of engineers all over the organization.
  • Work with mentors to deliver a project that will be used by customers, & showcase everything youve learned.

You should apply if some or all of the following apply to you

  • Youre a rising Senior pursuing a degree in computer science, software engineering, or similar.
  • Youre eager to learn how software engineering works at Harrys.
  • Youre excited to work with a product that offers you the ability to directly improve the quality of our customers experience.
  • You approach learning with curiosity & excitement, & are open to feedback.
  • You have any understanding of JavaScript & front end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue), & any understanding of browser technologies is a plus.
  • You have some experience coding a software project that is available on Github.

  • Working on the Harrys North America DTC Software Engineering Team
  • Working cross-functionally with Product, Design, & all other Engineering Teams in our department.
