Strategists at Smart are all about the big picture. How do things fit together? What do people really care about? The strategists role is to dig for the possibilities, make sense of it all & inspire the client & the design team with very clear, design actionable insights & observations. If youre a talented communicator, cultural observer, strategic thinker & compelling storyteller, please keep reading. If you have experience leading & conducting design ethnographies in the US or abroad, then definitely keep reading.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as core team members on client projects
  • Lead the research phases of your projects with input & oversight from the Project Director or strategy director
  • Oversee the set up & moderation of user research, SME & stakeholder interviews
  • Drive research synthesis, developing key insights at appropriate depth & linkage to business implications.

Naturally, you have:

  • 1-3 years of experience with design & innovation programs that lead to holistic consumer experiences
  • Experience running workshops with clients to uncover business, brand & innovation insights
  • Ability to connect with interviewees from all demographics & backgrounds
  • Experience conducting research around digital offerings & experiences
  • Survey or quant research experience a bonus!
  • No fear of teamwork, brainstorming sessions or presenting to executive-level clients
  • Experience with remote & global research tools such as diary study platforms & digital whiteboards
