This position is based in New York, NY & will report to the Associate Director of Valuations Team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate valuation appointments; working with clients to provide an elevated & non-contentious experience, while educating them on their items value in our marketplace
  • Accountable for the experience of all clients, consignors, & sales team members engaged with regional Luxury Consignment Office services
  • Responsible for executing consistent messaging & language around authentication & pricing communications; Lead is responsible for teaching this language to new & existing employees
  • Assist in defining the LCO experience through transparent language & maintaining brand standards
  • Ensure the brand image is maintained, the highest level of luxury customer experience is delivered & support the brands vision in all that you & your team does
  • Provide pre-consignment pricing services as requested of the Luxury Consignment Office by consignors & sales team members
  • Maintain strong understanding of pricing trends & sell-thru velocity of product categories in our marketplace by working with the Pricing & Authentication teams
  • Accountable for the sell thru & velocity of the product their team has priced
  • Accountable for the conversion rate of appointments to consignments
  • Accountable for accuracy of authentication & pricing of product reviewed by Valuations Team
  • Lead & mentor a team of Valuation Managers in their item categories in their respective offices
  • Develop team in increasing Expert knowledge; work with Leadership to develop strategic methods to build increased knowledge
  • Identify process gaps in learning & knowledge; gather & analyze data to critically evaluate & improve the consignor experience, assess regional impact, & recommend solutions
  • Ensure strong & nurtured partnerships with cross-functional team members (Expert Resources, Authentication, Sales Team)
  • In partnership with Expert Resources, ensure SOPs are effectively executed & TRR authentication & pricing standards are maintained
  • Hiring manager for respective office
  • Support program strategy for training & knowledge management
  • Ensure all Experts are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skill sets & standards; ensure team is motivated & engaged in contributing to the achievement of business supply & demand goals, as well as companys vision & values
  • Conduct post training evaluation to ensure effectiveness & continuous improvement

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
  • 5+ years experience understanding & delivering values as a product expert
  • 2-5 years experience working in the luxury space in a customer facing role
  • Team player able to work effectively & collaboratively across all departments to meet goals & deadlines
  • Graduate Gemologist certification from the Gemological Institute of America
  • Passion for delivering a luxury experience each & every day
  • Open to regional travel per sister office needs & local satellite events
  • Pricing expertise
  • Polished, professional presentation skills
  • A high degree of business acumen, sophistication, & the ability to quickly establish trust with consignors
  • Ability to handle multiple complex, time sensitive situations while remaining calm, cool & collected
  • Effective communicator (both verbal & written)
  • Demonstrates the skill & willingness to take initiative & to proactively anticipate organizational needs including the ability to meet external & internal deadlines as required
  • Ability to foresee potential obstacles well in advance of strategy launch dates & to problem solve in order to ensure proper execution of Valuation office processes
