CarGurus is looking to bring on a dedicated Head of SEO to lead our internal SEO product team incompetitor research, SEO testing roadmap development, & more. Youll report directly to the Head of Consumer Productat CarGurus & play a key role in cementing CarGurus as a top organic result for automotive search in the US & increasing share of voice in developing markets. SEO at CarGurus is a top priority & covers a broad scope of responsibilities beyond standard technical SEO, such as site speed (Core Web Vitals) & UGC.

What Youll Do:

• Lead SEO team in long-term road-mapping & strategic initiatives
• Monitor SEO performance across all CarGurus locales & subsidiaries, reporting regularly to the Executive Team
• Assist with internal communication across teams to unblock/enable SEO product & engineering resources
• Develop long-term UGC collection, analysis, & display strategies & assess their impact to SEO
• Advocate (with Engineering) for Core Web Vitals improvements & site performance monitoring
• Assist the Content team with ROI calculations & budget increase justification exercises
• Lead annual organic traffic forecasting efforts across markets, in conjunction with SEO Team & Marketing Analytics
• Always be aware of top competitors key product offerings, & how SEO can drive traffic to important CarGurus initiatives (e.g., Sell My Car) 

Who You Are:

• 5+ years of product marketing, product management, or analytics experience (ideally some combination of all three)
• 7+ years of SEO experience: ideally some in-house & enterprise-level experience
• Experience leading teams, particularly content and/or engineering teams
• Strong critical thinking skills - theres a lot of fluff about what works & what doesnt in the world of SEO, & your experience should allow you to know the difference
• Passion for data, & testing new features or improvements
• Willingness to take calculated risks, & justify them to relevant stakeholders
• Ability to effectively liaison with internal teams, subsidiary partners, & executive team regarding SEO initiatives & progress
• Good sense of humor & loves working in an unstructured, fast-paced environment
