Business Group Overview

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA)is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers & merchants) & solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance & profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational & macroeconomics,VCA drives high impact & tangible financial results.

Position Summary

Value-in-Kind (VIK) is a mechanism through which Visa offers industry leading products & services to its clients.

Central to our value proposition, VIK allows clients to enjoy the benefits of the Visa offering as part of their commercial agreements, fostering utilization of innovative solutions, & enabling business growth as a result.

The Director of VIK will focus on strengthening the provision of VIK & delivering on strategic growth objectives within North America.

The successful candidate will build upon the first iteration of VIK, acting as the catalyst for ongoing improvement & landing critical changes within the business. The Director of VIK will engage with senior stakeholders, cross-functionally to ensure that Visa delivers premium value to its clients.

In addition to the above, the Director of VIK will be responsible for the oversight of critical operational & governance functions relating to VIK.

The role is based in the Bay Area.


  • Provide thought leadership, guidance, & support on shaping Visa's future approach to VIK, translating the strategic approach into clearly defined outcomes

  • Identify & execute opportunities to enhance the VIK offering in North America, enabling delivery against targets & strategic objectives

  • Optimization of VIK process design, operational approaches & change management

  • Utilize best practice approaches from both within & outside of Visa to deliver optimal outcomes

  • Understand client needs & performance blocks in relation to VIK through interactions with Account Executives & Clients, formulating requirements to resolve

  • Foster support & buy-in' from senior stakeholders across both North America & the wider Visa organization

  • Development of tools, collateral & training to support VIK sales & execution

  • Ongoing management of VIK & governance committees

  • Act as the main conduit to the client facing organization for VIK, defining & delivering key communications, training, & updates as appropriate

  • Manage the central reporting of the VIK Scorecard to the North America Executive Leadership Team

  • Management oversight of VIK fund utilization & driving regional execution against scorecard targets

  • Own & drive resolution of issues & challenges as they arise


We are looking for bright & enthusiastic people to bring innovative ideas to our consulting practice:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

  • 10-12 years progressive experience across management consulting and/or payments industry

  • 2-3 years of prior program development & management experience preferred

  • A thought leader with a deep understanding of the Payments Industry

  • Strong emotional quotient & an ability to manage demands within a fast paced, dynamic working environment

  • Strong commercial acumen & experience owning P&L

  • Ability to form strong relationships (internally & externally) as well as a client-focused approach to all areas of work

  • Highly developed communication & presentation skills with an ability to simplify & articulate complex concepts & challenges, providing viable recommendations to resolve

  • A considered & pragmatic approach to quick decision making

  • Excellent influencing skills, able to engage & gain commitment from peers & an extended stakeholder community

  • Ability to think strategically whilst being focused on execution & delivering tangible results

  • Energy, commitment, enthusiasm, & can-do attitude

  • Self-motivated, highly energized; detail-oriented individuals who will deliver strategic thought leadership, problem diagnostics & high impact solutions to clients support the growth & performance.

  • Candidates must be able to develop enduring, strategic relationships with internal & external clients & across the Visa organization.

  • Proficient & ideally a power-user of spreadsheet & presentation tools

Work Authorization:

Work Hours

  • Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.


  • This position is based in the bay area & requires minimal travel time <10%.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit & stand at a desk, communicate in person & by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones & computers, reach with hands & arms.
