Tradeshift's Apps Team takes what is unique about a company's supply chain & turns it into a sustainable competitive advantage. There's no single answer for a company aiming to consolidate & digitize their supply chain - that's where our Apps Team comes in. Tradeshift Apps provides individual pluggable applications that work together to cover the different aspects of a business such as procurement, supplier risk, sustainability, finance, etc. We're a team of fun individuals from all different backgrounds, & we're excited to support our new engineers!
We believe that for something as critical as a company's supply chain, industry standard practices are just not good enough - this where you make an impact. You will help build widely varied apps to support different business needs, & build on a strong integrated core that enables supplier connectivity & collaboration, all in real time. The Apps you build provide external connectivity & integration with a company's existing systems & programs which greatly accelerate solution deployment.
What a day is like:
You will enjoy building beautiful, robust, cross-device compatible UI & features, ensuring there is sufficient coverage with automated tests. You will build reusable code & libraries for future use, collaborating with the team in an Agile/Scrum environment. You will ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs, be involved in taking a product from concept to release, & assume responsibility for the success of the product.
You will passionately engage in discussions about & contribute solutions towards making both incremental & drastic changes in our frontend framework, writing high-quality, tested, peer-reviewed code. Each & every day & for each & every project, you will identify opportunities & implement solutions to improve engineering productivity.
You're perfect for this role if you:
Are passionate about the impact of your work, are excited to learn new technologies, & are willing to dive into unknown territories. You are inclined towards software engineering best practices, pragmatic solutions, & are proud to own the quality of your deliverables. Curiosity towards new technologies, programming languages, frameworks is a plus.
These are a must:
3+ years of relevant professional experience
Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
Experience developing new user-facing features using React & Redux
Familiarity with RESTful APIs
Experience developing web applications with large scope & complexity
Experience working in agile & scrum methodologies
Ability to communicate clearly & concisely to engineers, designers, & product managers
Fluency in English
These are a plus:
Experience with client-side build tools (such as Webpack or Rollup.js0), front-end testing frameworks (such as Cypress.io, Selenium)
Experience with Angular, Node.js, socket.io
Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms (such as LESS & SASS) & of PWA (Progressive Web Apps)
Experience with AWS services (Api Gateway, Lambda Functions, S3 etc.)
Experience contributing to open source projects & building side projects in your own time
