Complex Networks is a global youth entertainment network spanning major pop culture categories including streetwear & style, food, music, sneakers & sports. Complex Networks is diversified around three pillars: advertising, e-commerce, & content where it creates & distributes original programming for Gen Z & Millennial audiences through premium distributors such as Netflix, Hulu, Turner, Corus, Facebook, Snap, YouTube, Roku & more. Additionally, Complex Networks generates revenue through a number of core business lines, including branded content & advertising, licensing, events, e-commerce, & agency consulting services.

The Role

The candidate will be primarily responsible for spearheading & driving innovation efforts within the Creative Strategy department. Responsibilities include leading creative development & packaging of our proprietary tentpoles in collaboration with key cross-functional stakeholders as well as developing large-scale, new-to-world platforms that expand upon Buzzfeed 's suite of products.

You Will

  • Lead the charge with the ideation, development & collaboration cross-functionally surrounding our brands energy moments (ComplexCon, ComplexLand, etc.) & ensuring that they are packaged & merchandised in a timely, organized fashion
  • Proactively ideate & pitch groundbreaking new business opportunities based on market trends/needs/forecasting
  • Work with Creative Strategists & designers to develop next level pitches/presentations for high level opportunities including out-of-the-box merchandising tools & resources (sizzles, landing pages, custom-designed presentations)
  • Provide creative direction as opportunities transition from pre to post sale on the largest programs, creating a seamless creative handoff so that the creative vision is executed as initially envisioned
  • Identify & communicate with potential vendors, partners, collaborators on new opportunities
  • Work with strategists to refine & craft innovative concepts while making sure we adhere to production realities & feasibility
  • Lead creative internal brainstorms with passion & present & interface with clients externally
  • Act as Creative Strategy lead on the most qualified, large-scale consultative partnership opportunities

You Have

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field required.
  • 7 - 10 years of strategy, marketing, creative direction or comparable creative experience
  • Strong writing, grammar & visual communication skills
  • Excellent verbal interpersonal skills & the ability to communicate clearly & effectively with internal team & clients.
  • Expertise in visual communication from traditional design to mood boards to mock-ups & renders
  • Proven project management record
  • Well-versed in digital, social media, & experiential marketing as well as the youth culture landscape
  • Strong research skills with the ability to develop insights backed by data
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • The candidate should be able to work in a very fast-paced environment & handle multiple projects at a time
  • A great sense of humor, self-motivation, & the ability to collaborate with a team & work independently.
