THE ROLE:

Peloton is seeking a Program Manager (PM) to drive program & project management for the Enterprise IT Operations (EIT Ops) department. You will work with a variety of business stakeholders, vendors, & IT teams, & be assigned to projects as they arise & as your bandwidth permits. You will also be part of a program management organization (PMO) in the EIT Operations department.

The Enterprise IT Operations department at Peloton is responsible for IT Service Delivery, Network Engineering, Audiovisual Technology, DevOps, IT Construction, Telecommunications, Cyber Security, Program Management, Streaming Engineering, & technology Governance, Risk, & Compliance (GRC) globally, focusing both on planning, building, & supporting technical services & solutions.

You are not required to have technical IT experience, but you are required to work with technical staff & understand technical initiatives. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Program Governance & Leadership
    • Select appropriately from a variety of PM methods, processes, policies, & procedures youve used previously or youve researched & apply to the situation
    • Successfully manage multiple, simultaneous, complex, high-visibility programs & projects in a portfolio
    • Develop & execute on integrated project plans
    • Develop & maintain a program management strategy which encompasses planning, development, monitoring, control, & execution
    • Track & manage project budget, scope, labor, & schedule
    • Recognize opportunities for improvements/adjustments & effectively implement
    • Facilitate decision-making by gathering & making information available, identifying & engaging the appropriate decision owners & contributors, & driving & focusing discussion
    • Identify, assess, & manage risks, action items, issues, dependencies, & open decisions; work with the technical lead of the project or program to manage the risks items, not just the list
    • Define programs or projects by gathering requirements & clear acceptance criteria/definitions of done
    • Manage scope & evaluate priorities to efficiently balance resources
  • Relationship Management, Communication, Statusing, & Reporting
    • Lead programs & workstreams through influence, competence, & results, & not through people leadership or task management, to create a culture of shared goals & shared direction
    • Develop & maintain a stakeholder management plan for individuals/teams within & outside the team and/or program
    • Drive process creation & cross-team collaboration, including helping build consensus between teams
    • Understand, manage, communicate, & report key program information, including status, schedule, milestones, risk, dependencies, major changes, & major decisions
    • Develop & maintain a statusing & reporting process & cadence which accounts for communication to various stakeholder levels & for various purposes
    • Plan & facilitate effective meetings, tailoring approach to the objective of the meeting (eg stakeholder program review vs weekly project meeting) & developing solid artifacts
    • Liaise with vendors & suppliers
    • Build & maintain solid artifacts according to PMO standards
  • PM Methods
    • Kick off projects & programs with clear definition of scope, objectives, key results, & stakeholders
    • Champion processes, including change management, knowledge management, project intake, roadmapping, prioritization, & service transition
    • Build processes, templates, & structure, or leverage existing ones as appropriate
  • Effectiveness
    • Coordinate & help come up with solutions, & remove impediments
    • Develop & demonstrate broad knowledge of IT initiatives & business goals
    • Solicit feedback to confirm solutions are appropriate & effective
    • Exercise risk-based judgment, & help teams make the right judgement calls
    • Recognize, adopt & instill good PM practices throughout the organization

  • We firmly believe in conducting retrospectives & driving managed, continuous, improvement - you will facilitate many of these & are expected to facilitate & participate in an open & constructive dialogue
  • Were doing a lot really fast - you may be asked to flex outside of your role from time to time

ROLE DOES NOT INCLUDE

  • People management of the individuals or teams who support a program or project.
  • Technical decisions including: strategy, architecture, & guidance.
  • Decision-making for priority, scope, & timelines (PMs should facilitate these decisions by gathering & making information available, identifying & engaging the appropriate stakeholders, & driving focused discussions).

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have:
    • 5+ years IT program management experience
    • Experience managing complex programs with large budgets, exacting stakeholders, multiple vendors, & firm deadlines
    • Experience gathering requirements & soliciting clear acceptance criteria
    • Strong track record of project delivery & benefits realization
    • Experience in strategic planning & analysis for projects & programs
    • A basic understanding of software engineering & technical infrastructure
    • Excellent presentation & meeting facilitation skills
    • Strong interpersonal communication, problem solving, negotiation, & organizational skills
    • A strong sense of accountability & personal ownership
    • A flexible (whether proactive or reactive, as the situation requires) approach to change & are able to work effectively in a variety of situations, constantly seeks improvements, & is forward looking
    • Experience in defining, implementing & coaching others in Program Management methodologies & tactics
  • You:

  • 4 years contextual (not hands-on) IT experience, which might (but doesnt have to) include familiarity with some of the systems & services we use & offer, such as:
    • Network: Cisco, Palo Altos, Meraki
    • AV: Google Meet, Zoom, Robin, Appspace
    • DevOps: Aviatrix, Terraform, Ansible, AWS
    • GRC: SOX, GDPR/CCPA, PCI, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery
    • Cybersecurity: Application, cloud, corporate, & network security; phishing
    • Service Delivery: Jira Service Desk, Halp, Oomnitza Asset Management, CMDB
    • Client Platform Engineering: Jamf, Bettercloud, Okta
    • IT Facilities: ISP, low voltage cabling, badge access, surveillance cameras,  interpreting architectural drawings
  • Experience using Monday.com, Smartsheet, Confluence, Jira, and/or GSuite - we dont use Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, or Microsoft Project here
  • Understanding of ITIL
