OVERVIEW

Starting a company is difficult for anyone, but statistics have shown that women have an even more difficult time obtaining funding from outside investors. Some women avoid the fundraising route & self-fund or rely on friends & family which can delay the growth of their company.

In this women-driven panel event, four very successful & influential women in Silicon Valley will share their valuable insights & talk through key challenges women founders face. If you are a female entrepreneur who wants to feel empowered to excel OR a male entrepreneur who wants to be more inclusive of & sensitized to the women in Silicon Valley, this event is for you!

Carine Schneider, Partner with Nua Group & founder & CEO of WFFConnect (recently acquired by WorldWideWomen) & serial entrepreneur who has successfully raised capital in both the U.S. & Europe; Cheryl Cheng, VC & Partner at Blue Run Ventures who focuses on early stage consumer & mobile big data opportunities; Ari Horie, founder & CEO of Women's Startup Lab who has been featured in various publications & given the honor as a Keynote Speaker & Panelist for Women Startups & Technology conferences; and, Trish Costella, founder & CEO of Portfolia who's lifelong passion has been on unlocking the personal & professional talents of women, will discuss:

Traits that can torpedo women during fundraising
Why women fail as founders & how to make sure you don't
Tips & hints for creating an effective pitch
Understanding unconscious bias both men & women investors may have when investing in women-led companies
How women investors are changing the investment model; especially those who wish to focus their investment in women founded companies.
