Details:
BBVA, the global bank that acquired Simple and partnered with Dwolla, is now accepting applications for their Open Talent Startup Competition. They are looking for startups to help transform fintech with. Winners will be part of a 2 week immersion program in Mexico & London + 180,000 in prizes! All finalists will spend the day with BBVA Executives from multiple departments. Past winners incl. Socure & PeerTransfer.
Why apply?
All Finalists
-Finalists will spend the day before the competition meeting with BBVA decision makers (including but not limited to team members from Innovation, Ventures, Digital M&A, Internal Venturing and Business Development)
-Finalists will pitch to a crowd comprised of venture capitalists, angel investors, local entrepreneurs, traditional finance/banking professionals, and last but not least, executives from BBVA
-Coverage from local and national press
Winners
-180,000 cash prize. 2 winners from each region will receive a 30,000 cash prize to develop a project in collaboration with BBVA (see success story)
-Immersion program, the winners will join us for a 2 week (not consecutive) immersion program in Mexico and London where they will meet some of the best companies in the finance & technology industry while leveraging BBVA's contacts to boost your business opportunities.
Who is eligible?
-Startups created after April 1, 2011
-Focused on fintech, or with a possible connection to this sector (see what sectors we are interested in)
-An operative project, or at least with a demo or beta version available
-Less than 1.5 million of funding and less than 1 million of revenue over the last year
What sectors we are interested in:
Personal financial management (PFM), P2P, Consumer loans, Digital currencies, crypto currencies, Payments, Open platforms, Financial inclusion, Insurance, Trade and commerce, Investment management...as well as e-commerce, Big Data, Mobile, Omnichannel, Legality, Internet of Things (IoT), Business Intelligence, Commercial Intelligence, Digital economy, Security, and New ways to interact with clients.
