<P CLASS="MsoNormal"><STRONG>Northern Ireland Digital and Immersive Technology at South by Southwest (SXSW)</STRONG></P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">Digital Catapult Northern Ireland (Digital Catapult NI) with Invest Northern Ireland (Invest NI) are supporting digital and immersive technology companies from Northern Ireland attend and demo at SXSW.</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">SXSW takes place in Austin, Texas from 10 19 March. It is one of the largest and most creative digital events in the world, comprising film, music, and interactive sectors. The SXSW Conference provides an opportunity for professionals at every level to participate, learn, and network. At SXSW, Northern Ireland digital and immersive technology companies will be exhibiting on an international stage.</P>

<P CLASS="MsoNormal">Northern Ireland is taking over the Great Britain House @ SXSW on the 13 March 2017. We will showcase some of the best and most innovative digital and immersive technology companies from Northern Ireland.</P>

<P CLASS="MsoNormal"><STRONG>Experience RETNE A VR Journey Like No Other</STRONG></P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">During Immersed in NI, we are offering attendees the chance to sample a unique VR experience, RETNE. RETNE was created by a talented team of Northern Ireland technologists and creatives, specifically for SXSW.</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">The creative lead and producer on this project, Deepa Mann-Kler, is an award winning, internationally acclaimed, multi-disciplinary artist. Deepa Mann-Kler has exhibited her work in China, America, Germany, and Ireland. She will be making her US debut at SXSW this is a VR experience not to be missed.</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal"><STRONG>What is RETNE</STRONG></P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">RETNE is an immersive experience that creates an original and compelling VR environment. It incorporates high quality animation, state of the art immersive audio and an original storyline that makes for a truly unique user experience.</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">The user will be entirely transformed, taking on a new, unrecognisable appearance, and adopting the role of a tourist. The tourist is about to embark on a magical journey through virtual reality, visiting fabulous attractions in the new world that surrounds them, accompanied by a quixotic tour guide.</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">Playful and interactive, RETNE engages the user to start and progress their VR journey using humour, empathetic characters, sensory and interactive triggers. The user must perform quests within the VR experience to reveal hidden secrets and special effects.</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">RETNE really is out of this world, wholly consuming the senses from start to finish visit Immersed NI to see for yourself.</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal"><STRONG>RETNE will be showcased at SXSW on 13 March at the Great Britain House @ SXSW during Immersed in NI.</STRONG></P>
