Come hear DataCorps Ambassadors and Non-Profit Leaders share their stories and learnings from our most recent slate of data projects.

Kush Varshney and Brian Abelson will talk about the algorithm they created that will allow GiveDirectly to identify the poorest villages in Kenya in which to deploy their new programs, bydistinguishing types of roofs using aerial images culled from Google Maps.

Chris Tynan,Alex Vaughn and Tushar will share their analysis from the survey data of thousands of alumni of The Mission Continues'programs to understand which demographic factors and other signals might indicate that a soldier would succeed in the program and make an easier transition to civilian life.

Seth Feaster, Sonali Murarka, Sonia Mehta and Burton DeWilde worked with Thorn's internet data to identify patterns of behavior that they hope to use to empower law enforcement and other NGOs to better fight child sex trafficking.

And Cat Miller and Will High explored new ways for Medic Mobile to measure the impact of their community health programs, including adapting the Lives Saved Tool from Johns Hopkins to help them better plan their programs.

We are also thrilled that Joy Sun of GiveDirectly and Aaron Scheinberg of The Mission Continues will be joining us!

Come celebrate their accomplishments with a toast and treats, and find out how you can get involved in the DataCorps. Sign up to volunteer or learn how your organization can use data science to inform your programs and increase your impact.

Huge thanks to Teradata for their support throughout these projects, the Knight Foundation, and Pivotal Labs for hosting this Meetup.
