<P>Louis P. Berneman is the founding partner of <A HREF="http://osagepartners.com/osage-university-partners/" TARGET="_blank" REL="nofollow">Osage University Partners</A> (OUP), a venture capital firm that specializes in financing university spinouts commercializing disruptive science. Osage has partnered with 65+ universities and research institutions, including Columbia, to invest in their start-ups. OUP I ($100M) launched in 2011, has invested in 37 companies across all technology sectors, including software, hardware, and life sciences. OUP is now raising Fund II targeted at $200M. Osage focuses on transformative technologies, passionate entrepreneurs, and investing in companies solving major global challenges. Prior to OUP, Lou was managing director of the University of Pennsylvania Center for Technology Transfer.
