The San Francisco Bay Area continues to be the world's epicenter for technology & innovation. Nowhere is that more true than in marketing. New digital technologies along with social & mobile platforms are changing consumer behavior at an unprecedented rate. Bay Area thought leaders & entrepreneurs are literally changing marketing around us. All of these new success stories benefit from the heritage of innovative people & companies that have created the foundation for our industry here in SF today.

Nine years ago, sfBIG introduced the Hal Riney Icons of Marketing Award to recognize the amazing, talented people who have helped contribute to & create this legacy of innovation that we are able to benefit from in our industry today. We named the event in recognition of the late Hal Riney, who's agency was really the first to put San Francisco creativity & innovation on the map for marketers across the country.

To date, we have had the opportunity to celebrate & recognize amazing leaders from across our industry. In our first year, we recognized Jeff Goodby, founder of Goodby Silverstein who shared his experiences working for his mentor Hal. Other recipients have included; Paul Venables, Louis Rossetta & Jane Metcalf, founders of Wired Magazine, Deborah Contrad, CMO of Intel, John Battelle, Author, organizer of Web 2.0 & founder of Federated Media, Tom Bedecarre, Chairman of AKQA & President of WPP Ventures, Larry Kramer President & Publisher of USA Today & last year Willie Brown, Former San Francisco Mayor.

This year, Proceeds from the Hal Riney Auction will go towards the USF Marketing Scholarship Program.

The evening will be hosted at the spectacular Bently Reserve in San Francisco, CA. A dinner & silent auction will fulfill the night's festivities as well as the ceremony of presenting the next Hal Riney Icons of Marketing Award.
