Title: Mobile Health Technologies: What Your Smartphone Can Tell About You
Abstract: Using mobile or wearable devices, such as smartphones & activity trackers, provides interactive interface for ecological momentary assessment (EMA) as well as collects vast amount of behavioral measures using passive sensors. The EMA linked with behavioral measures broadens the understanding of users mental health. In this talk, I will introduce multi-modal, time-dependent, & high-dimensional data collected using smartphones and/or wearables & discuss how to analyze these data. I will demonstrate the utility of functional data analysis in visualizing & examining the association between the self-reported level of depression & behavioral trajectories of elderly patients with depression using smartphones. This analysis contributes to identifying patients behavioral patterns & providing an interactive intervention tailored to each individual.
