About speakers:
Payam Banazadeh is a founder & CEO of Capella Space, a Silicon Valley company building the largest constellation of commercial SAR satellites in order to provide hourly monitoring services of anywhere in the globe. Payam holds a management degree from Stanford University & graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Aerospace Engineering from University of Texas. Prior to starting Capella Space Payam was a project manager & flight systems engineer at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) & has been awarded NASA Mariner Award, NASA Discovery Award, & NASA Formulation Award. Most recently Payam was selected to be on the prestigious "Forbes 30 under 30" list in 2017 & Capella has been recognized by New York Times, Bloomberg, & recently Inc magazine as one of the top 25 disruptive companies in the world.
Robert Tillman is a many time company founder, CEO, investment bank, restructuring & turnaround professional & real estate developer. He's a co-founder of DigitalGlobe, a satellite remote sensing company. Closed $4.1 million strategic partnership with CTA for purchase of 2 satellite buses & assisted in closing several rounds of seed financing. The Company, which merged into EarthWatch in 1995 as part of a strategic partnership with Ball Aerospace, has raised over $350 million in equity, debt & in-kind financing. Company successfully launched a .6 meter resolution satellite in October 2001 & has won a $500 million U.S. government contract in October 2003. DigitalGlobe went public in June 2009 at a market capitalization of approximately $900 million, & was sold to Maxar Corporation in 2017 for approximately $2 billion.
