This month, we'll learn how startup Helium uses blockchain, wireless network, & open source software to build a decentralized machine network that simplifies device connectivity/IoT.
To build this network in a decentralized manner, Helium uses blockchain to create a two-sided marketplace made up of a community of coverage providers on one side & users of the network on the other.
We'll dig into how this decentralized IoT network is disrupting telco's, & learn more about the current challenges facing the IoT industry. Helium's COO, Frank Mong, will discuss their decentralized approach to solving issues around connectivity.
Helium was founded in 2013 with a mission to make it easier to build connected products. They are backed by Khosla Ventures, GV (fomerly Google Ventures), FirstMark Capital, & other top VCs.
