Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring an Associate Product Operations Manager to join our Product team.

About the role

The Product Operations team unlocks Oscars ability to ship more products faster & better, which is critical to Oscars overall mission to use technology & design to refactor healthcare. The primary function of Product Operations is to execute & continuously improve processes leading up to product launch, as well as ongoing processes that have not been automated. 

Oscars work in tech spans several areas: building innovative consumer experiences, technology & infrastructure, expanding into new markets, creating better ways for healthcare providers to interact with patients, optimizing internal operations & processes, & lots more. 

As an Associate Product Operations Manager, you will work in partnership with a team of Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists and/or Designers to ship products more efficiently, serving as a critical partner to Oscars mission to use technology & design to refactor healthcare. You will serve as an expert within a specific domain & own operational processes & work with leaders & stakeholders to identify opportunities for operational improvements within your domain.

You will report to a Senior Manager, Product Operations.

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office ( in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Ave), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.

You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Note, this list of states is subject to change. #LI-Remote

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, & Washington is: $98,400 - $129,150 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, company equity grants & annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Build & maintain effective relationships with Product Management, Design, Engineering, Data Science & other stakeholders to deliver on department programs & objectives. 

  • Understand key development and/or planning processes to assist in the design of best practices, policies, automated procedures & technical standards to improve efficiency & quality.

  • Implement process changes on a prioritized basis. 

  • Partner with management and/or aligned stakeholders (Product Manager, Data Scientist and/or Engineer)  to analyze data & workflows to determine opportunities for process improvement.

  • Create & maintain documentation to make processes sustainable & scalable.

  • Apply project management strategies to ensure tasks are completed timely & risks/delays are surfaced proactively to manager & stakeholders. 

  • Execute on product delivery processes within scrum teams & administer key tech-wide tools & processes as needed based on business demands, & in accordance with business direction.

    • Product delivery processes may include: facilitating internal communications around project status, feature launches & dependencies, working with stakeholders in Product Management & Engineering to specify test & acceptance criteria for manual QA testing, including documenting test plans & scenarios & owning bug/issue triage & resolution, & ensure that bugs are escalated & triaged appropriately.

    • Administering key tech-wide tools & processes may include: facilitating internal communications to solicit feedback, socialize solutions & gain buy-in before implementing changes, owning tool administration related to aligned domain, including recurring maintenance activities, issue triage & resolution & roll out process changes to impacted stakeholders, including communications & trainings.

  • Compliance with all applicable laws & regulations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in project management, data, healthcare, strategy or consulting. 

  • 2+ years of that experience involves working directly with engineers & designers.

  • 2+ years of experience with common project management tools such as Jira or Monday.com. 

Bonus Points

  • 4+ years of work experience in a cross-functional role in technology or operations, with an emphasis on designing & implementing process improvements.

  • Experience synthesizing complex issues/scenarios for various non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience working with healthcare and/or insurance data, analytics & reporting.

  • Ability to digest & evaluate complex & large data sets.

  • Knowledge of how to develop dashboards & working with Looker or other business intelligence/data visualization tools.

  • 1+ years of experience with SQL, R, and/or Python. 

  • Ability to query, manipulate & analyze data & relational data models demonstrated by 2+ projects leveraging SQL, R and/or Python.

Pay Transparency: 

Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, & experience.
