Sr. Product Manager | Acorns

Acorns is seeking a Sr. Product Manager to oversee the strategy & execution of the end to end customer experience of the web, ios, & android apps.  With a focus on creating an experience that is easy to use, easy to adopt, easy to navigate & helps Acorns achieve our goal of becoming a money manager for everyday people & families. You will be responsible for the core experience of the iOS, Android & web experience. You will work with cross-functional teams to bring this vision to life.

You should have deep empathy for our customers, the ability to deliver results in an analytical, collaborative & fast-paced environment & demonstrate a proven track record of building world-class, customer-facing product solutions in the financial technology (fintech) industry. 

This role has the option to be remote or based in our Irvine or New York office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive product development from conceptualization through launch - creating actionable plans, work streams & tactics, & execute on those in support of new product launches
  • Bring  innovative ideas & the latest technology together to develop a seamless onboarding experience, easy navigation & an overall great experience for millions of Acorns customers.
  • Deliver high-quality product features & optimizations. Use data to validate & communicate impact.
  • Use qualitative & quantitative data to develop an understanding of how customers engage, what matters to them & identify pain points.
  • Write & review detailed requirements & help manage key development ceremonies, including grooming product backlogs, & coordinating/prioritizing.
  • Collaborate with teammates from design, engineering & other disciplines to execute & deliver against goals & roadmap
  • Utilize data, insights, instincts, & experimentation to drive product decisions, aligning team objectives with company vision & goals 
  • Define success metrics & long-term strategic plans for the business unit
  • Solve ambiguous problems & proactively identify & mitigate risks before they become roadblocks
  • Regularly review metrics & identify & improved data/mechanisms for visibility, ensuring your program stays aligned with company objectives

What you will bring to Acorns:

  • 5 or more years of experience in consumer-facing software product management; previous experience at a startup (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, psychology, economics, or other similar fields
  • Ability to translate product strategies & new product ideas into detailed requirements that encompass the entire customer experience
  • Experience with strategies that drive business growth, including acquisition & retention
  • A strong track record of leading teams & inspiring the people who work with you to execute flawlessly against both the long-term product vision & current priorities.
  • Track record of developing, executing, & experimenting different enhancements that have a significant impact on the customer experience.
  • Highly analytical, good at using data to form a hypothesis & defining metrics to determine the success of product initiatives
  • Ability to conceptualize, manage, & prioritize multiple projects
  • Highly effective communication, judgment & interpersonal skills; ability to liaise seamlessly between functional teams
  • Thirst for delivering game-changing products
  • Exceptional drive & precision in delivery
  • Strong experience developing business case justification for new products/services or material changes in current products/services
  • Be curious, willing to learn, & stay current on industry trends, including technology, business practices, new opportunities, competitor capabilities, etc.
  • Believe that nothing is impossible & proactively identify & resolve strategic issues to meet strategic, financial, & technical goals
  • History of being courageous & a willingness to take calculated risks in pursuit of our mission

Compensation Information:

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $173,000 & $204,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, & experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including equity grants & discretionary cash bonus awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility & various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, & parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an at-will position & the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, & market factors.
