About the job

As a Demo Engineer, you will have a large impact on the go-to-market execution at Segment. Part of the Presales organization, you will be responsible for building, managing & maintaining all of the Segment demonstration assets. This includes demo collateral, web applications, demo tooling, & technical integrations used to showcase our capabilities & differentiate from the competition. You will work alongside the Presales team to drive innovation into these demo environments to maximize outcomes for sales & partners. You will also act as a critical liaison between Sales & the Product team, sharing feedback with the Product Management, Operations, & Engineering functions at Segment. 

Responsibilities

In this role, youll:

  • Build comprehensive use case demos for Solutions Engineers to leverage in customer facing calls which may include websites & applications connected to Segment Workspaces.
  • Utilize your software engineering expertise to ensure the technical accuracy & reliability of demo environments & demo tooling, including integrations with other partner technology.
  • Develop visually appealing, interactive demo environments using a range of tools, empowering AEs & SEs to provide self-service demos that highlight delightful user experiences.
  • Stay abreast of product updates & enhancements, & incorporate them into the demo environments as appropriate to showcase the latest features & improvements.
  • Gather feedback from end users & use insights to continuously enhance & refine demo content & delivery.

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in software development, with a strong understanding of RESTful APIs, web frameworks & integrating SaaS platforms.
  • Experience learning, understanding & communicating complex technical concepts to internal stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of Javascript including experience using Node & React with the ability to quickly learn & adapt to new technologies as needed.
  • Experience developing & deploying full stack, web-based applications with a focus on creating intuitive user interfaces & seamless user experiences.
  • Creative thinking & problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering projects with tight deadlines & incomplete information.
  • Ability to work independently & collaboratively with multiple cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts & platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, GCP, AWS is a plus.
  • Experience with NextJS or similar frameworks. 
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases & database management.
  • You are passionate about data infrastructure & stay informed about new trends, technologies, & frameworks

Location

This role will be remote, & based in the USA.

Travel

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $112,320.00 - $140,400.00.
  • Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $118,960.00 - $148,700.00
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $132,160.00 - 165,200.00.
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilios equity plan & corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidates starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, & geographic location within the state.
