The role

Were looking for a strategic & visionary Director of Design Systems & Enablement to lead the evolution & governance of our global design system across all HelloFresh brands & platforms. In this role, youll shape the future of how we design at scale enabling consistency, accessibility, & quality across customer & internal-facing experiences.

As a senior leader in the UX organization, youll build & lead a team of designers & engineers, work closely with Product, Brand, & Engineering leadership, & champion a culture of collaboration, craft, & scalable thinking. Learn more about the HelloFresh Design System & how the team uses Figma here.

What youll do

• Lead & scale HelloFreshs global design system to support multiple brands, platforms, & markets, ensuring quality, cohesion, accessibility, & efficiency across the design & development process.
• Enable design excellence at scale by evangelising & enabling accessibility.
• Manage a team of 3 designers dedicated to design systems & operations work.
• Drive the strategy, roadmap, & governance of the design system in close collaboration with stakeholders across UX, Product, Engineering, & Brand.
• Establish & maintain scalable contribution models, documentation standards, & design tokens frameworks that empower teams while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Champion accessibility & inclusion by embedding WCAG compliance & inclusive design principles into system foundations.
• Collaborate with Brand & Marketing teams to align on visual identity, tone of voice, & the evolution of brand expression across digital products.
• Evangelize the design system internally, communicate its value, & enable adoption through tooling, training, & active community engagement.

What youll bring

• A senior design leader with 10+ years of experience in product design, with at least 4+ years dedicated to building & scaling design systems at a global or enterprise level.
• Strong player-coach mindset youre comfortable rolling up your sleeves in Figma while also building vision, strategy, & a high-performing team.
• Deep experience in partnering with engineers to build & maintain UI components, design tokens, & system infrastructure.
• Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Brand, & Marketing.
• A strong communicator & facilitator, with the ability to translate design system needs into compelling narratives & actionable roadmaps.
• Proficient in tools such as Figma, Storybook, Zeroheight, Tokens Studio, & familiar with design ops workflows.
• Passionate about accessibility, inclusive design, & creating seamless experiences at scale.
• Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments, ideally in consumer-facing tech or ecommerce.
