About the Role
iCapital is looking to hire a Vice President to join the Alternatives Distribution team. This individual will be responsible for supporting iCapital National Account efforts to proactively grow business & implement iCapitals alternative investment product placement & management along with focused distribution efforts, across strategically important RIA or independent broker dealer relationships. This will include carrying out the National Accounts strategy, developing & monitoring success of client business plans. Will be working across home offices, field sales force, value-add programs, all while implementing top-down sales initiatives in collaboration with internal iCapital partners.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in investment products & is able to work with clients on alternative investment product placements, firm level marketing initiatives, & service level requests to drive sales. This position will report to the Head of Alternatives Distribution National Accounts & will work closely with our field-based regional sales teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead research engagement for new & existing mandates to deliver industry leading due diligence experience to iCapital white label research teams.
- Cultivate strong & trust-based relationships with Research teams at all levels leadership, analysts & operational due diligence.
- Collaborate seamlessly with iCapital research teams & GP partners to ensure continuous alignment on current views, pipeline, strategy placement & industry trends.
- Become a trusted partner to key clients & work with iCapital Enterprise level relationship managers to deliver a unified best-in-class client & advisor experience.
- Own product & platform rollouts coordinating across internal partners, general partners, key clients, & iCapital regional sales team members to maximize sales opportunity.
- Create & maintain active SWOT documentation for each key client & establish routines to support each relationship.
- Develop key client collateral independent of or in partnership with iCapitals Marketing team to support our field-based sales efforts.
- Document all client focused activities via CRM (Salesforce).
- Build & strengthen relationships through contact frequency including comprehensive face-to-face, phone, & electronic contact with key decision-makers & points of influence at firms to increase our influence at various firm levels.
- Responsible for direct selling through relationship management activities with strategic clients to profitably increase sales & asset retention.
- Participate in harmonizing strategy & tactics & distribution opportunities for initiatives for assigned firms.
Qualifications
- 10 + years of experience placing complex products with RIAs & Independent firms
- Undergraduate Degree required
- Working knowledge of RIA / independent firm ecosystems from a sales, custodial, product, & research perspective; Intermediate knowledge of alternative investment products / asset classes
- Able to influence & persuade others, bridge differences, & build consensus towards a common goal or objective is critical
- Leadership & communication skills are crucial. Must be able to work collaboratively with key internal relationships & external partners
- Marketing & analytical skills required to implement research coverage & top-down strategic plan to execute overall business plan
- Strong sales skills, with history in a consultative sales process
- Able to multi-task & maintain a positive attitude & high-performance level with demanding & time sensitive initiatives
- Excellent verbal & written communication & strong presentation abilities
- Series 7 & 63 licenses are required
- Ability to travel required, possibly up to 50%of the time for key client support & business development activities
Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, & an annual performance bonus.
