Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring two Associate Product Managers, Process Engineering to join our Product team.

Oscar Product is an innovative, fast-paced team using technology & design to revolutionize healthcare. Our work on tech spans several areas: building innovative consumer experiences, technology & infrastructure, expanding into new markets, creating better ways for healthcare providers to interact with patients, & optimizing internal operations & processes. We work alongside a talented set of technologists with Product, Engineering, & Design to form a tight-knit, high-performing team. 

Were hiring for two roles within our Process Engineering domain. By applying to this job post, you will be considered for both positions. One role is focused on the clinical domain area & another will support common components that are shared across multiple applications. As an Associate Product Manager on the Process Engineering team, you will work closely with a cross functional team of other PMs, Developers, & Business Stakeholders to solve impactful, important, & interesting business problems. 

In either role, youll support delivering fully custom developed solutions within our Business Process Management software platform. This includes building core systems from conception & ideation, through design & development, into deployment, & onto continued maintenance. Youll be responsible for gathering & defining the products requirements, determining which features are feasible, & validating the final product with internal end-users including other Oscar engineers, data scientists, operations specialists, financial teams, & others across the organization.  Youll also be responsible for defining & developing a product roadmap & measuring the impact of your product to further iterate on Oscars ability to operate an efficient health insurance company.

You will report to a Group Product Manager.

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Ave), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.

You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, & Washington is: $119,200 - $156,450 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, company equity grants & annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an understanding of company strategy & leverage that expertise to inform strategy, roadmap & decision making. Execute on the vision, strategy, & roadmap for product investments that power our technology.

  • Make technology & processes recommendations for improvements to stakeholder leads & product leadership.

  • Where applicable & possible, challenge current technology & processes with the intent of implementing changes that solve business problems more efficiently.

  • Help to define KPIs to measure business & operational impacts, & relentlessly identify improvements.

  • Independently articulate crisp & thorough requirements, diagnose & resolve issues & clearly communicate across stakeholders, incorporating data & user research insights.

  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, data scientists, designers & other product managers to ship innovative functionality that advances our member experience & makes our tools more efficient.

  • Work closely with our design & research teams to gather insights on our members evolving needs & use those insights to iterate on our strategy.

  • Problem solve issues across teams to quickly diagnose root cause & move to resolution factoring in trade-offs on speed, scalability & quality.

  • Compliance with all applicable laws & regulations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or 4+ years of relevant working experience.

  • 2+ years of experiencing working cross-functionally with engineering teams with 1+ years of experience partnering with engineers in a Product Management or Product Management- adjacent role.

  • Comfortable with tech systems & understand basic technology infrastructure such as backend services, database relationships, & leveraging database tools such as SQL.

Bonus Points

  • Proficiency with SQL.

Pay Transparency: 

Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, & experience.
