We are looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about building distributed systems that can scale & perform to meet growing customer needs.

As a Software Engineer I at DigitalOcean, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to revolutionizing cloud computing. The fleet performance team supports monitoring, optimizing, & enhancing core system performance, ensuring our products consistently exceed customer expectations. You will be responsible for ensuring performance metrics are both accurate & easily accessible to our users, empowering them with transparent insights into our systems' capabilities & efficiency. 

What Youll Do:

• Supporting the optimization & operations of distributed systems

• Programming in Python, Go & other languages

• Collaborating with a motivated team of peers

• Consuming from & contributing to free/open source software communities

• Solving interesting problems in a technically rewarding environment

What Youll Add to DigitalOcean:

• Minimum 2 years experience programming in Python or Go

• Minimum 2 years of software engineering experience

• Experience working with complex, distributed systems

• Experience working with Linux hypervisors & analysing systems performance

• Experience developing performance metrics, analysis tools, & reporting systems

• A passion for shipping well-engineered & well-tested code

• Strong analytical, communications, & organizational skills

• Experience in agile software development methodologies

• CI/CD experience with a focus on quality & developer velocity

• We reward our employees. The salary range for this position is between $70,880.00 - $106,320.00 based on market data, relevant years of experience, & skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company & individual performance. We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees, including equity grants upon hire & the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
