About the Team

The IAM Engineering team is responsible for developing & maintaining Identity & Access Management services integrated with user accounts. As DigitalOcean continues its rapid growth & moves upmarket, the demands on identity, access, authorization, & account management have significantly increased. This team will focus on operational enablement for the business & our customers.

The Opportunity

We are seeking highly motivated & skilled engineers in Hyderabad. You will play a critical role to ensure product experiences at all stages of the developers' journeys enable a DO-simple method to scale their business. You will join a team providing smooth operation of the IAM platform, providing technical support, managing IAM operations, & driving efficiency through automation. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of building a new team & making a significant impact on our company's growth.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Develop IAM gRPC APIs written in Go Lang to deliver solutions to target customers Jobs To Be Done (JTBD).
  • Collaborate with the team to define OKRs, driven by our product strategy, & develop roadmap items to successfully deliver on Key Results. 
  • Contribute to authoring of technical documents to deliver on feature development.
  • Triage & resolve escalated IAM support tickets. Serve as the first line of support for incoming bug reports.
  • Take ownership of IAM platform operations, including authentication, authorization, user accounts, security history, ssh keys, projects, tags, & user notifications.
  • Maintain & contribute to operational excellence & the stability of the platform.
  • Contribute to quality assurance tooling & synthetic testing to proactively identify & address potential customer impacting issues.
  • Collaborate with product teams on existing & new product launches to enable seamless integrations of IAM services.
  • Contribute to the documentation of IAM processes, & customer instructions.

What Well Expect From You:

  • Strong technical aptitude & problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Go to develop gRPC & REST APIs.
  • Hands-on knowledge of microservices & distributed systems, including technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, MySQL, & Redis.
  • Experience with Identity & Access Management systems (e.g., authentication, authorization, user accounts).
  • Strong interest in direct collaboration with customers to define their key Jobs To Be Done, & translate into features.
  • Excellent communication & collaboration skills in written & spoken forms.
  • Author technical documents in architecture & task definition.
  • Ability to work independently & manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive & detail-oriented approach.
