Overview

The AR Collections Associate will be an integral part of the Finance team & will report to the Senior Manager, Credit & Collections. This role is on the Credit & Collections team & requires interaction with external customers as well as the Sales, Customer Support, Finance & Legal departments to initiate & maintain relationships with customers & to collect fees billed to the customer. The successful candidate will be detail oriented & proactive at managing their portfolio of customers. This role requires Standard East Coast business hours (8am 5pm EST)

 

Responsibilities

  • Owning a global portfolio of customer accounts, resolving customer disputes, sending collection letters, calling on delinquent customers, assisting with account queries & requesting money from customers;
  • Processing payment batches & updating information for BACS, credit cards, etc;
  • Establishing initial credit terms for customers & periodically re-evaluating terms on existing customers;
  • Reviewing & enforcing contractual terms for customer payments;
  • Resolving global cases in multiple queues within Salesforce;
  • Disablement of delinquent customer accounts as well as enablement when accounts have been settled;
  • Preparing management reporting & various account reconciliations as requested;
  • Monthly reporting of delinquencies & collection status for your region assigned accounts;
  • Maintain updated/correct customer contact information;
  • Uploading customer invoices & purchase orders to various portals;
  • Assistance in processing Certificates of Residency requests from customers;
  • Completing ad hoc reporting & additional project requests as deemed necessary by management;
  • Working directly with customers & other internal departments to consistently deliver superior customer service as well as to support company initiatives;

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • 1-2 years of professional experience in a corporate environment, ideally B2B
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills & willingness to learn new tools/systems
  • Ability to process high volumes of transactions with accuracy  and attention to detail
  • Capable of managing confidential & sensitive information with discretion & integrity
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Ability to represent the Finance department favorably with customers, other departments & external third parties

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Recent experience using NetSuite & Salesforce (last 2 years)
  • Previous customer credit or collections experience
  • Proficient with technology, with ability to quickly learn new software programs
