As a Developer Advocate, you will inspire & equip developers to create, deploy & operate software with DigitalOcean. This role will report directly to the VP of Developer Relations & work closely with our Growth, Product & Engineering organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Create code & content that educates developers so they can be successful with DigitalOcean. The code & content will drive our business through authentic engagement with developers. It will also serve as a key input into constantly improving our developer experience. The content can be in the form of written tutorials, videos, workshops, social media posts & any other mediums that developers care about.
  • Provide insightful & meaningful feedback to Product teams based on your usage of the products. The best way to improve developer experience is to show rather than tell, so a significant portion of this work will involve building with our platform to identify rough edges & weaknesses that need to be improved.
  • Guide & mentor the Developer Relations individuals & teams based on your experience for how to best serve developers.
  • Decide how to scale our developer relations efforts. As we see success with our execution in videos, events, workshops, & other tactics, well need to figure out the best way to invest in efficiently & effectively scaling up those executions to authentically serve even more developers.

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in at least one major programming language such as Python, JavaScript/Type, Java or C#, along with a breadth of experience with several other programming ecosystems
  • Demonstrated previous experience in creating publicly-available high quality, customer-facing technical content such as videos, written content, research publications
  • Self-starter attitude, empathetic, & motivated to serve developers & make the colleagues around you better

  • We reward our employees. The salary range for this position is $167,400 - $209,300 based on market data, relevant years of experience, & skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company & individual performance. We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees, including equity grants upon hire & the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
