As a member of the finance team, you know your accounting principles & the full accounting process end to end. Your position starts with recurring monthly accounting & reporting activities but with a consistent focus on ways to drive better decisions through actionable information. For you, closing the books enables a deeper understanding of the business & you continually look for opportunities to leverage this to improve our processes. You're the savvy accountant who understands the business & can proactively communicate what is needed. A team player at heart, you collaborate cross-functionally, evangelize best practices, move fast while keeping attention to detail, & can flex your problem-solving muscle to support Superhuman's business needs. 

ROLE

  • Become intimately familiar with Superhumans customer billing processes & revenue recognition
  • Own the Accounts Payable process end-to-end; from properly recording bills to conducting weekly payment runs
  • Manage the companys expense policies & employee expense reporting & analysis
  • Act as a lead for all treasury activities including cash management, payment forecasting, & debt compliance
  • Manage our external accounting & tax partners
  • Manage month-end closing activities, including reconciliation & preparations for various accounts/processes & journal entries 
  • Initiate & lead projects that are focused on improving efficiencies across the organization
  • Work collaboratively with the finance team & other departments to understand business processes & ad hoc projects as requested (e.g. funding, stock, pricing) 

SOUND LIKE YOU?

  • Experience: 4-6+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a tech environment or public accounting firm. You have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business. You're familiar with financial & accounting software (Quickbooks, Netsuite, Intacct) & experience with SQL is a plus.
  • Collaborator: You can partner with a diverse team to achieve results. You have worked cross-functionally with other teams (such as Product, Marketing, Sales) & are comfortable working directly with stakeholders. You have a high degree of empathy for your internal customers.
  • Excellent Communication: You have excellent written & verbal communication skills & excel at making the complex seem simple.
  • Grit: You have courage, passion, & the ability to persevere towards challenging goals. You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment & are agile enough to shift your focus to what is most important for our customers.

SALARY INFO

The Accounting Manager role may span a range of experience & expertise. Through our interview process, we will review your background, local market data, & use a mix of technical & qualitative assessments to determine where you fall in our range. We will talk about compensation in our first conversation & be transparent throughout the process about which level we think is the best match for you in our organization.

We take a locally informed approach to compensation. We will be able to share the precise range based on your location on our first call. Our annual salary range for this role ranges from $84,000 - $120,000. This range encompasses all geographies across the US, with the top 10% of the range is specifically for top US markets such as in the New York City Metro/San Francisco Bay Area.

The salary range does not reflect total compensation, which includes base salary, benefits, & company stock options.
