About the Role

The  Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for leading the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure accurate & timely receiving processes as well as inventory & stock control with maximum efficiency. The Team lead must also strive to meet all set KPIs for the Operations of the warehouse.

Notes on schedule: 

• This role's working hours are Sunday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.      
• This is a 100% in-person role, meaning you will be required to come to our Distribution Center located at 5491 Timberlea Blvd. Mississauga, L4W 2T6

What you will be doing:

• Organize & maintain inventory & stock control. 
• Ensure that the storage areas & warehouse is kept clean & tidy, which includes identifying areas where processes could be improved, & work practices amended.
• Supervises & reviews  all receiving, inventory, staging, & shipping activities performed by warehouse team; maintains a high degree of visibility & access to employees on warehouse floor
• Understands & ensures strong compliance of standard processes
• Leads by example & trains, motivates, coaches, rewards, & disciplines crew being supervised
• Assist the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure smooth operation of warehouse systems,  equipment & machinery & arrange for maintenance & repair work as needed.
• Ensure accurate proper & timely reporting of data to generate established KPIs
• Continuously develops employees by coaching & providing insightful feedback. Document progress & ensure associates are cross trained to provide adequate coverage in key processes
• Provide daily updates on receiving status, issues, & projects
• Participate in decision-making processes involving receiving challenges & continuous improvements
• Work in compliance with OH&S acts & regulations.
• Use personal protective & safety equipment & clothing as directed by the employer & report workplace hazards & dangers to the supervisor or employer.
• Other duties as assigned.

At a minimum, you have: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience.
• Minimum 1-3  years of warehouse experience in a food processing, manufacturing or service industry
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Calendar,Gmail,Docs,Sheets) & video conferencing (Hangouts, Google Meet)
• Experience with Inventory management & control
• Ability to communicate in English, both verbal & written.
• Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Certification is required
• Ability to work calmly & effectively under pressure
• Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
• Willing & able to work in a refrigerated environment (0C to 4C)
• Ability to push, pull, & lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time including regular squatting, bending, twisting & walking
• Flexible to work overtime, on weekends, evenings & holidays, as required
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail & accuracy looking consistently for potential food safety or quality deviations.
