As a Senior Character Concept Artist at Riot you will bring characters & effects to life. Drawing inspiration from as little as a napkin sketch or as much as a full-blown narrative concept, you will produce ideas & craft designs that are resonant, compelling & iconic. As a Senior Character Concept Artist on League of Legends, first & foremost, you will help come up with visual solutions for a wide range of stylized content.

As a member of the team, you will report to the Concept Craft Lead. Youll partner with the Art Director as you work across disciplines to help build foundational ideas & character concepts. You will participate in craft review sessions & give/receive feedback on the work. You will also work collaboratively with designers, writers, & producers to bring the League Universe to life.

Responsibilities:

• Explore creative solutions to establish a unique visual identity for the champions in the game
• Ideate & create highly varied character concepts
• Discover & incorporate interesting trends & non-traditional references
• Sketch, brainstorm, & iterate new concepts in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
• Develop detailed concept art & Orthographs for 3D artists, VFX artists, & animators to implement into working game assets
• Continuously deliver concept assets that fulfill the requirements of the projects game & visual design
• Collaborate with with artists on the team by providing & receiving creative/team feedback & providing clear creative goals & outcomes to your team

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience working in concept art
• 5+ years of professional experience working in Photoshop or equivalent software
• Strong craft fundamentals such as understanding of anatomy, form rendering, colors, & value structure.
• Experience creating designs using inspiration from historical, fantasy, sci-fi, mainstream trends, & other pop-culture references.
• Ability to pull from a diverse visual library to develop new & exciting visuals.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience shipping at least one game title or shipping content for a live game
• Experience with League IP or a general knowledge of League of Legends
• Experience with broad appeal vs niche aesthetics
