YOUR ROLE

  • First things first: You will take on responsibility from day one & become the local People Lead & POC for our senior leadership of our Barleben site.
  • You are the Head of for our People Business Partners, People Operations & Payroll colleagues - in your role you give People guidance, are a Leader, Challenger, Coach, & Supporter in critical situations & projects. 
  • This role is a maternity & parental leave cover limited to a period of 2 years.

YOUR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Area 1: Team Management & Strategic Planning
    • Lead & supervise a team of HR professionals, including our People Business Partners & Operations/Payroll colleagues.
    • Provide guidance, coaching, & support to team members to ensure high performance & professional development.
    • Collaborate with the site management to develop HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
    • Translate organizational goals into actionable plans for our local People team.
  • Area 2: Employee Relations & Performance Management
    • Act as a point of contact for complex employee relations issues, providing guidance & support to resolve conflicts & grievances effectively.
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, & ethical standards in all employee-related matters.
    • Develop/Improve our performance management processes to set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, & assess employee performance.
  • Area 3: HR Operations & Data Analysis / Reporting
    • Streamline HR processes & procedures to improve efficiency & effectiveness.
    • Ensure accurate record-keeping & reporting via our HR systems & databases.
    • Collect & analyze HR metrics to track key performance indicators & identify trends.
    • Be responsible for / prepare regular reports for senior management on HR-related activities & outcomes.
  • Area 4: Change Management & Continuous Improvement
    • Lead change initiatives related to HR policies, procedures, projects & organizational structure.
    • Communicate changes effectively to employees & facilitate transition processes.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement & implement best practices to enhance HR effectiveness & efficiency.
  • Area 5: Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as your local stakeholders in Operations & People-related teams (e.g. Blue collar hiring) but also Finance, IT, & others, to address HR-related needs & ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
    • Serve as a liaison between the People department & other functional areas of the organization.
  • Area 6: Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, & company policies.
    • Mitigate HR-related risks by proactively addressing issues & implementing appropriate controls.

YOUR PROFILE

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • You possess at least 5-7 years of experience in HR roles, with a focus on People business partnering & operations.
  • You have experience in a Production / Warehousing / Logistics environment & its key challenges.
  • You demonstrate strong leadership skills & have previous experience managing a team.
  • You are fluent in German & English.
  • You excel in strategic thinking & can translate business objectives into HR initiatives effectively.
  • You have a solid understanding of employment laws, regulations, & best practices.
  • You exhibit excellent communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport at all levels of the organization.
  • You are proficient in HRIS & other relevant software applications for data management & analysis.
  • You have experience in performance management & employee relations.
  • You are proactive & solution-oriented, with the ability to anticipate & address HR challenges effectively.
  • You are highly organized & can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • You demonstrate integrity, discretion, & professionalism in handling confidential information & sensitive situations.
  • You have a continuous improvement mindset & are committed to staying updated on industry trends & best practices in HR management.
  • You possess strong analytical skills & can use data to drive decision-making & measure People effectiveness.
  • You are adaptable & open to change, with the ability to lead & support organizational change initiatives.
