The role

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer in Food Systems, you will define & implement scalable technical solutions for complex business problems. You will drive key initiatives, working closely with stakeholders & collaborating with cross-functional teams to build a global solution that works seamlessly across all markets. Your work will ensure a clear architecture with well-defined boundaries, enabling team autonomy & efficient operations worldwide.

On the technical side, you will leverage modern practices like DevOps, Continuous Delivery, & data-driven approaches to deliver incremental business value. Youll design & develop scalable solutions while maintaining high-quality standards & ensuring reliability across all systems. Along the way, youll benefit from mentorship, workshops, & pair programming to support your professional growth.

What youll do

• Work in a cross-functional team, typically 6-8 people, using various technologies & frameworks with a strong focus on ReactJS/Redux. Work with state-of-the-art technologies like Kafka, Kubernetes, AWS, Kotlin, & more
• Take ownership of the architecture, design, development, deployment, & operations of the services you will develop using DevOps practices, pair programming, & other cutting-edge methodologies
• Be an active, solution-oriented member of autonomous, cross-functional agile teams collaborating with Product Owners, Front-end & Back-end Engineers, Designers, & Business Intelligence teams
• Having an in-depth understanding of HelloFreshs core product & architecture & acting as an ambassador for software solutions, offering support & mentorship to colleagues
• Solve software problems that have visible risks, roadblocks, & constraints. Examples might include legacy dependencies, data quality, compliance, & architecture or technology limitations

What youll bring

• Proven experience in software development with strong problem-solving skills & proficiency in ReactJS/Next.js, Redux, JavaScript(ES6+), HTML5, TypeScript & CSS5
• Experience back-end technologies like Kotlin, Java or Golang
• Experience in mono-repositories, frontend developer experience tools
• Expertise in modern technologies, including containerization & orchestration tools like Docker & Kubernetes, relational & document databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB, as well as stream processing & event-driven architectures using tools like Kafka
• Experience writing unit/integration/functional test cases & Cypress, Jest frameworks
• Strong problem-solving skills, leveraging Gen AI tooling
• Proficiency in end-to-end development processes, including TDD, application tuning/profiling, & continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD)
• Enthusiasm for software engineering & passion for mentoring & helping others grow through knowledge-sharing sessions & peer-to-peer learning
