About the job

This position is needed to develop & deliver on the vision, strategy, & roadmap for Twilios phone numbers products.

Twilio is looking for a Director of Product to lead the Phone Numbers product team. Phone Numbers is the gateway to all of our Communications business, where different sender types around the world are needed to unlock messaging & voice communications. You will understand the needs of our customers & build products that solve that need at global scale. Leading a team of product managers & working with engineering counterparts, you will craft & deliver on the vision, strategy, & roadmap for Messaging at Twilio. 

This role will work cross-functionally with teams across Twilio to understand phone number needs & enable customers to get numbers when & wherever they need. This role will help take our Communications business to the next level of growth, while working with some of the world's leading organizations.

Responsibilities

In this role, youll:

  • Develop & drive the strategy & roadmap of Twilios phone number products, taking into account Twilios global growth strategy, compliance needs, & scalable operations that make our customers successful on Twilio
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with GTM, Legal, & the rest of Communications Product teams to ensure alignment on the best strategic direction & market opportunities
  • Launch innovative phone number products from the infrastructure layer up & lead critical new initiatives for Twilio that open up new markets
  • Be the voice of the customer in every conversation & decision, & ensure we build world class products that our customers love & value
  • Manage a global team of product managers & mentor them to succeed in building & executing to the vision

Required:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of Product Management or related experience building customer-facing cloud products for businesses (B2B) or developers
  • Experience growing a team of product managers
  • Experience with highly technical, multi-workstream product launches; distributed systems experience a plus
  • You can translate between the technical details, customer problems, & business impact of the teams work
  • You are a strong communicator. From pitching to our leadership team on what customers need to see from our products, to developing a spec for a feature with a partner, youre able to thoughtfully & clearly explain fundamental reasons behind your decisions. 
  • You are organized & comfortable working with exec-level stakeholders & drive deep customer relationships.
  • You can build highly leveraged products that can be used as the cornerstone for customers & internal teams alike.
  • Youre not shy about diving in deep with engineering, sales, legal, or the customer.
  • You can run a tight ship, prioritizing a robust stream of work into cohesive, incremental releases
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Desired:

  • Experience building products/services related to APIs, developer experience
  • Experience working with telecommunications or other regulated ecosystems

Location 

This role will be remote in the United States but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado, California, New York, & Washington. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $199,040 - $248,800.
  • Based in New York, Washington State or California (outside the San Francisco Bay Area): $210,720 - $263,400.
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilios equity plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidates starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, & geographic location within the state.
