Role Description

As VP of Engineering for this new division, you will exactly get to do that.  Youre able to balance business delivery with engineering quality, have strong business acumen, are data & metrics oriented, & can balance a portfolio of short term & long term investments.

As a ground floor opportunity for this startup team, we need this lead to build a top-tier engineering culture, focus on product strategy & execution.

Responsibilities

• You will lead the team in balancing urgency vs. the incredibly high quality bar expected by both our customers & the broader Dropbox organization, through clear and repeatable engineering processes
• You will partner closely with leadership across all functions - Product, Design, Data, Research, GTM, Customer success & Sales 
• You will partner deeply with Engineering, Product & Design leadership across Dropbox
• You will create a culture of strong technical ownership, resulting in highly reliable products & services at scale
• You'll foster a healthy & collaborative culture that embodies Dropbox's values & continue to develop Dropbox as one of the best places to work

Requirements

• 12+ years of engineering experience in a medium or larger software company including 6+ years managing high performance teams
• Strong experience in building recommendations systems with ML/AI.
• Demonstrated ability to hire & grow senior leaders & managers
• Strong technical craft mastery & engineering discipline
• Deep organization capabilities, especially in regards to influence, collaboration & communication
• Leading Growth team experience is a plus

Total Rewards

Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job & level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, & peer compensation.  We target most new hire offers between the minimum up to the middle of the range.

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropboxs total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Current Salary/OTE Ranges (Subject to change):
$390,000 - $405,000 - $420,000
