Job Description

Under the direction of the Master Grower, the Horticulture Technician will contribute to inspecting & maintaining flats of plants; & identifying their status & possible issues related to germination, irrigation, & nutrients.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about horticulture & will share our values around conducting high quality research. They will be an energetic, forward-thinking & creative individual with high standards & good judgment. Responsibilities

  • Maintaining horticulture equipment
  • Recording & tracking EC, pH, temperature, & humidity
  • Cleaning filters, maintaining a clean grow room
  • Performing leaf & root analysis
  • Weighing & mixing fertilizers, including the use of Dosatrons 
  • Monitoring inventory of horticulture supplies 
  • Fixing issues related to plant growth under the guidance of production grower 
  • Reading & using grow room software
  • Calibrating sensors
  • Receive, monitor & replace CO2 tanks
  • Collecting nutrient solution & plant tissue samples for analysis
  • Handling acids & acid management 
  • Correcting EC, pH when out of correct range 

You have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A degree or certificate in Horticulture, Food Science, or a related discipline
  • Experience with food safety & HACCP protocols desired
  • Positive, respectful attitude
  • Must be detail oriented & organized
  • Reliable attendance
  • Strong communication skills
  • Reliable basic math skills
  • Proficient in spoken & written English
  • Able to operate calibrate scales, calipers, EC/pH meter, HMI, & tablet (training provided)
  • Able to stand & walk for long periods of time
  • Able to lift/carry items up to 50 pounds
  • Able to drive scissor lift & access plants 20 feet in the air after training
  • Flexibility to work one weekend day per week
